CHARITY APPEAL
FOR WOUNDED SOLDIERS

Captain Harry

Captain Harry was 26 years old, on tour in Helmand Province Afghanistan, when he stepped on an IED. He lost one of his legs in the explosion and the other was subsequently amputated because of a fungal infection.

He went through a long and arduous recovery at Selly Oak, working tirelessly to become mobile again, eventually being discharged and moving on to adapt to life as a civilian.

Originally, Just Rifles provided Captain Harry with funding to buy a Kayak. Here is a note he sent us at the time:

“I am absolutely loving the kayak. I have used it a couple of times this week and it really is amazing. The freedom I get in the kayak is as good as the hours of running I used to do and it is fantastic to get that back. So thank you for your help.”

Captain Harry and the Just Rifles team hit it off immediately and Harry is now a core member of the charity, lending his expertise, for which we’re enormously grateful.
