Dinner Dance 2011

To launch this newly formed charity we decided to host a fund raising dinner and charity auction to kick-off the fund. A date was chosen that only gave us six weeks to find a venue, publicise it, find sponsors and also attendees! A daunting task but it was a challenge we had to rise to for such an important cause. Lord’s Cricket Ground was the chosen venue and we set to work.

We were pleasantly surprised at the level of support we received and word spread, meaning that on the night we had over 300 attendees and managed to raise a substantial amount for the charity.

We were proud to have Major Neil Bellamy and Captain Harry Parker giving the speeches, as well as a number of Riflemen in attendance. The charity auction was highly popular with lots such as luxury spa breaks, a signed collectors presentation albums by Pink Floyd and Queen, and Tea for Two on the Terrace at the House of Commons to name just a few. We would like to thank everyone who attended the event, helped in its organisation and sponsored it.
