Taxi to 10 Downing St!

We were incredibly honoured to be invited to 10 Downing Street to meet Prime Minister David Cameron who was holding a reception in honour of all the hard work being done by military charities across the UK.

The Just Rifles team: Bryan and Carol Fugler, Scott Levy, Ed Addington, Chris Howard and Captain Harry Parker were treated with drinks and canapés at Downing Street on Thursday 17^th July. Upon arrival, we walked down the famous staircase and passed a wall of pictures of past Prime Ministers in which Ed was excited to spot his five times great-grandfather former Prime Minister Henry Addington!

The afternoon was a great opportunity to meet and discuss our work with other military charities, including Soldier On, a charity who provide career management and employment support to ex-servicemen and women. Carol was able to speak to a representative from Liverpool Football Club, who recruit ex-servicemen for training, and discussed offering a tour of Anfield Stadium for the Just Rifles charity members.

The day was a great success for the cause as we mingled with military dignitaries and politicians and of course Prime Minister David Cameron. Bryan, Chris and Scott enjoyed a great chat with the PM who had high praise and respect for the work of Just Rifles. The reception was a great opportunity to be reminded how important military charity work is and how much it is valued.

We had a fantastic afternoon amongst some excellent company and are a very proud that the hard work of Just Rifles and all other military charities was recognised.
